Experiments have thin, shark like faces with multiple, solidly colored eyeballs, large ears, and small sensory flaps, or "secondary Ears" underneath the main ears. The inside of the ears, the gums, teeth, tongue, and eyeballs are all the same color, and normally dictate the colors of the horns, claws and plates on the Experiment's body. Fur and horns can be present on the head, as well as several other places on the body...
Experiments can have anywhere from 1 to 4 sets of eyes. Eyeballs are solidly colored, with no pupils. They can appear completely round when fully opened, but are quite expressive when squinting, narrowing the eyes, and so on. The eyes always glow very faintly.
Experiments are covered in hard, plate like features, which glow due to bio luminescent chemicals that make up the plates. They come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, but always match that of the inner ear, horns, eyes, and claws. Plates can be very many, or very few, and appear on any part of the Experiment's body.
Most experiments do have hair, most commonly found on the head and tail, although it can and has been found on nearly every place on an experiment's body. Hair color is not dictated by the colors on the Experiment's skin, and can be styled and dyed to the individual's liking.
Skin on an Experiment is similar to that of a human. It is smooth instead of scaled, but lacks the hair that a mammal like a human has. It is soft and dry.
Experiments come in a wide variety of colors and markings. There are no limits to how many colors, or what color an Experiment can be, as well as there are no limits to what the individual's markings look like. Some Experiments are bright, while others are darkly colored. Some have extremely complicated patterns and markings, while a few are only a few colors and have simple patterns.
ALL Experiments have four phases of color change, which change according to the season. The plates and glowing bits of the Experiment may also change, though most of the time will not change. the markings never change! Some of the color changes are very minimal, while some are very extreme. They have a Spring phase, Summer phase, Fall phase, and Winter phase.
Blood and Flesh:
The blood, Saliva, Bodily fluids, and Flesh of an Experiment is always an opaque white color. Scars are often times visible as lighter parts of the body, if not white.
Experiments have anywhere from 4 to 8 different limbs. Usually one or two pairs of arms, and a set of legs. Both hands and feet have a set of three digits, two "fingers" and one "thumb". The hands and feet have very sharp claws, made out of the same material as the plates on the body. They glow when the plates glow.
Each Experiment has his/her/their own unique ability that they can use at will. No two Experiments will have the same exact ability, and while some of them can be incredibly powerful, a good 90% of them are pretty weak and small, simple things such as small bursts of speed, a little extra strength, or even being able to learn other languages by hearing them. More powerful abilities do exist such as fire breathing, reality warping, x-ray vision, and telekinesis. These stronger abilities usually take a lot of energy and have many negative effects on the body.
Experiments are able to reproduce with one another, however, should an Experiment choose to breed, she will only have one or two pups. These Experiments are called Nulls. An Experiment can only give birth once before her organs are damaged, so females raise young until they are adults. Null Experiments take on traits of both parents fairly equally. Twins are rare, though not impossible.
The Feral Form of an Experiment is his or her "basic" form. It is what they where made to be. They look like small dragons, or lizards in feral form.
This is the Experiment's "half" form. It is the cross between shifting into a human form and remaining in feral form. They retain their experiment heads and necks, coloration, tails, limbs and so on, but look as if they stood up. Breasts and genitals are present in this form, so clothing is typically worn.
In this form, they loose their Experiment colors in the face, upper arms, legs, and body, but keep their horns, plates, long ears, sensors, hands, feet, and tails. Skin color Is now a human skin tone, which fades to the Experiment's natural colors where his or her extremities are.
Experiments are very intelligent and have learned to speak human languages both among themselves and to humans. They are highly intelligent and socialize just as humans do, but have an extreme drive of curiosity. Most Experiments are curious and playful by default. They are capable of using and manipulating objects, living in social clans and families... and even building and following laws.
